Our Walks in Catalonia
Walking holidays in Catalonia to be enjoyed not endured

As with our other walking holidays, we walk 5 times during the week and over distances of around 6 miles. All of our walks take place in or around the Sant Llorenç National Park, which is about 30 miles to the north west of Barcelona. The scenery is a wonderful combination of rolling green hills and pine forests interspersed by old monasteries and other ancient buildings. Mountain ranges, including the Pyrenees, form a spectacular background to nearly all of the walks. As well as viewing the world famous Montserrat from a distance on several occasions, on one particular day our walk takes us around the top of this mountain, having arrived at the top by cable car.

Our walks on Catalonia are safe, well thought through and achievable by most level of walker. We unashamedly walk to the pace of the slowest in the group and have a "just in case" back up vehicle tracing the route most days. On top of this, there are always 2 bilingual guides in attendance at either end of the line for your comfort and safety.
Whilst the condition under foot isn't overly difficult, we would still recommend the wearing of good walking boots or shoes during our walking holidays. We are well aware that there are a number of good walking sandals on the market, but don't feel that they offer sufficient protection for this type of walking holiday.

Each walking day, we take lunch on the move by way of a picnic that's been prepared for us by the hotel. This is consumed at a local beauty spot, such as a forest clearing, village square or, on one day, in the grounds of a 14th century monastery. Supper is prepared for us back a the hotel by our own private chef and served in the intimate surroundings of the 14th century hotel dining room.
