Our guests are nearly always our best information about what's good and bad in the walking holiday world. This year a couple told us that they had been walking in Canada (Nova Scotia) with Scott walking adventures and had a great time. I spoke with Angela, their owner, who has a really good philosophy towards walking holidays. "Here at Scott Walking Adventures, our mission is to createm memorable walking and hiking experiences in beautifull places of natural history and cultural heritage. We try to be professional, ensure customer satisfaction and also respect the environment in which we work." Sounds good to us so why not visit their website!

Like us, Minorca Sailing use the enchanting port of Fornells as a base for
their specialist sailing holidays. We often bump into satisfied customers
who tell us about their day, learning how to handle a boat in the
beautifull harbour. Minorca Sailing cater for all levels of sailing and windsurfing. Their
guests benefit from fully qualified tuition and coaching and like ourselves, offer
both apartment and hotel accommodation. Unusually for this type of company they also provide
creche facilities for young children. From personal testimony, we are pleased to
recommend Minorca Sailing.

We are very keen to promote british made, high quality walking products and
Altberg have some of the best. Altberb are a traditional Yorkshire bootmaker
who make an excellent range of walking boots in 5 different width fittings. They
also offer a custom fitting service at their factory in Richmond, North Yorkshire . For a full range of Altberg stockists, click here. Altberg
boots are maybe a little more expensive than some of the brands that you may see
on the high street. However as walking guides we feel that quality is always worth
paying for, especially where our guests comfort and safety are concerned.

We lose count of how many times we see a Regatta label during the average walking
season. It seems that nearly all of our guests wear one or other of the Regatta
range. The 2007 range, which oozes class and style, includes, waterproofs, fleeces,
base layers, bodywarmers and a whole range of sweat shirts and t-shirts. One of
the things that we really like about the Regatta brand is that it is designed
for men, women and children and is available in plenty of different
sizes. Regatta also manufacture high end walking, treking and travelling footwear,
which are designed for all walking conditions.

Whilst we offer holidays of the two legged variety, we have to admit that cycling
can be great fun as well. Many of our guests have been on cycling holidays
with these guys and have told us what a good time they have had. Their cycling
trips are designed to cater for all levels - for the first time cycle tourist, leisure
cyclist, to the most experienced cycle tourist. Much like Menorca Walking
Holidays, Freedom Treks take care of all the details, leaving you to have fun.

If you are looking to walk further afield this year, then we strongly recommend
Auswalks who organise walking holidays all over Australia. They are best known
for Inn-Inn walks where you walk from one B and B to the next each day. Auswalk
offer their customers a choice of guided or self guided trips. At Menorca Walking
Holidays we believe in giving our guests high quality and professional service.
With this in mind we are happy to recommend Auswalks.

Our guests often ask us what type of footwear they should bring on their walking
holiday. The answer of course is that everyone is different, that different
shoes and boots suit different people and that much depends on the walking terrain.
The Adventure Centre publish this walking boot guide and we really like
it. This site does not mention any particular brands but gives the potential
purchaser advice across a whole range of criteria and helping him or her find
the boot that is right for them. We would strongly recommend visiting The Adventure Centre
site before buying your next walking footwear.

Booked a singles walking holiday and not sure if you will be up to the physical
activity? If so these guys could be the solution. Events Together organise walking
and scrambling weekends for people who like to walk and meet new and interesting
people at the same time. They offer a short but inclusive weekend programme
in both mountain and country environments. Much like ourselves, their walking
weekends are to be enjoyed not endured and would be ideal preparation if you were
thinking about coming walking on Menorca during the next 12 months. Aside
from the walking, Events together also organise other events for single
people such as, sailing, caving and skiing along with multi-activity weekends.

We came across the Hillscape walking holidays site and liked it a lot. They
offer self guided walking holidays based from a delightfull guest house in
The Ystwyth Valley. Richard and Anne who run the company seem like a nice couple
and offer over 40 self guided routes with various degrees of difficulty.
Menorca Walking Holidays takes a break during July and August due to the
hot weather. If however like a lot of people you can only get away during this time
of year, we strongly recommend this part of Wales as a walking destination and Hillscape
as the people to show it to you.

Many of our guests having enjoyed their time walking on Menorca ask us if we
can suggest somewhere else to go for their next holiday. Often
we recommend one of our partners on this page. However sometimes
our guests are looking for a choice of destinations and activities which makes
it difficult for us to give advice with confidence. This was until we came across
Golden Gap years who plan alternative activity holidays for the over 40's. The
Golden Gap website is easy to use and offers a full choice of holidays, ranging
from water and winter sports, walking, golf and new skill learning breaks.
If you are struggling to find the holiday that is right for you, click on the logo

We have a lot of experience walking with people intheir 50's and 60's and it is
fair to say that they have a differnt outlook on life from their counterparts
from the previous generation. This age group now is now more demanding, has
a longer life expectancy and likes to live life to the full.
We found Laterlife.com and immediately connected with its aims and objectives.
Laterlife.com contains a wealth of reference information, features and ideas, to
help enjoy laterlife to the full. Whether you are over 50 and still working, planning
retirement, planning early retirement, or already retired and looking for new ideas
or information to enjoy your retirement, then laterlife aims to be of value to you.

We offer our guests a free day every week which can be used as an excuse to go shopping,
lay by the pool or generally relax. Another fun alternative might be to visit Golf
Son Parc which is situated close by to all of our holiday accommodation. Son Parc,
recently extended to 18 holes by renowned golf architect Dave Thomas, is the only
course on Menorca and offers attractively priced day golf packages which include
both club and buggy hire. After a round of golf in the sunshine, you may wish to
partake of cold refreshments in the bar or even lunch on the bright spacious terrace
which is situated close to the 18th green. We have found the staff at Son Parc to
be friendly and helpful and, we are happy to recommend them to Menorca Walking Holidays
guests. You can visit their high quality website by cllicking on the logo above.

We came accross Outdoor World Ltd when stocking up with goodies up for our
2009 walking season. Outdoor world, as the name would suggest, are an online
outdoor equipment/clothing supplier.
We found their range to be at least as
comprehensive as anything else we have seen and at competetive prices. These
guys are also retailers and it notices. We phoned them with a couple of
questions and these were answered professionaly and in a helpfull manner. We
certainly feel that they know their stuff and are delighted to recommend
them to our walking guests.

If you are coming back from Menorca feeling invigorated and ready for a more physical challenge, then
Peakland Walking Holidays is the place to come to for high quality walking breaks in the Peak National Park. PWH is run by writer, photographer and walking guide, Pete Hawkins, who has been leading walking holidays in the Peak National Park for over 21 years. He runs short walking breaks from his base in the village of Tideswell in the Peak District throughout the year. Pete also organises the Silva-sponsored Map and Compass Courses, again run from Tideswell, which will help you find your way from A to B without the need for a guide. Best I stop now before talking myself out of a job, although seriously would have to say, having participated on one of these courses, we have found them to be informative and well worth the effort.

We like to listen to our guests whilst out walking and this year a common thread has been Spice. Spice is an adventure/social group whose moto is "live your dream". From what our guests say, they deliver on this promise as well, offering a range of activities too numerous to fit into this confined space. There's water rafting, water skiing, scuba diving and, for those who like something less physicaly demanding, there are courses in self hypnosis, homeopathy and positive thinking. They also organise social events, such as theatre/cinema trips, dinners and general get togethers. From what we hear, everything is organised professionally, with the emphasis very much on fun and having a good time. Click on the logo to visit their site, we loved it.
